Kai (he/they) is a queer, trans non-binary Chinese massage therapist and somatic practitioner. They believe our most promising path toward healing and thriving is through listening to our bodies. Kai is passionate about people, community, conflict resolution, anti-shame work, and grief, loss and transition journeys. They enjoy cooking, being outside near any body of water, and playing with their cat Momo.

Kai has developed a passion for healing work that weaves in elements of our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves. Kai has gained insight from their experience as a trans person as well as an interracial, international adoptee of color. They know the body to be a place that inherits and holds our personal and collective experiences and traumas, as well as our hopes and dreams. Kai believes that the journey of embodiment is our pathway towards building a powerful relationship with ourselves. This is the foundation of both of their offerings in massage and somatic integration work.

Kai is trained in Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, prenatal massage, stretching, myofascial release, cupping, and hot stones. They love working with the body to support a range of goals. Whether that’s supporting pain reduction, enhancing your strength training or mobility work, or relaxation, Kai works with you to provide a tailored session aimed at addressing your concerns and/or providing relaxation relief.

Kai also offers somatic integration sessions blending their training in massage therapy with Internal Family Systems parts work, movement, stretching, Reiki, Craniosacral unwinding, and breathwork.

Any session with Kai is curated with your intentions, desires, and limitations in mind. Together, you’ll clarify your goals and co-create space to listen for what your system is expressing.

Kai completed Reiki I and a Craniosacral Unwinding I training in 2024, and completed an Internal Family Systems Training in 2023. Kai also worked at an anti violence organization to support queer and trans survivors of partner violence in crisis and rebuilding.

Kai recently graduated from Spirit Wellness Institute as an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist). They work with the body manually and use their background in holding space emotionally and energetically to offer deep listening and presence. Kai's work is guided by the belief that when we listen deeply to our bodies our innate wisdom to heal and transform emerges.

What does a session look like?

Kai offers 1-hour, 90-minute, and 2-hour somatic integration or massage sessions.

Massage:

Massage is tailored to the client’s desires and needs. At the beginning of working together, we will discuss these things before moving to the table.

Somatic Integration:

Like any relationship building work, somatic integration work is long term and slow moving. Whether you may visit Kai one time on your own journey, or begin working with Kai regularly, the work follows the flow of your internal consent. When we slow down and listen, the direction and wisdom from your system becomes clear— and we follow that flow together.

Each Somatic Integration Session is unique, and will look different based on the client’s needs and system. We will work together to explore the physical, emotional, and spiritual elements of your life and what you bring to the table.

In session, we may take some time to drop into your body and listen for what comes up. We may use a variety of hands-on physical, manual work and/or energetic modalities in service of offering presence, care, compassion, listening, and release for your system. Kai will join you in exploring your system’s guidance on this.

An introductory session may begin with a conversation where you may express your goals and desires in your relationship with yourself, or we may begin by tapping into your body, non-verbally. We may talk for most (or all) of the session, or not at all.
